I've handled over 6 dozen American fenders and about equally many Mexican made ones.

Later most 2008, information technology's actually kind of a launder. At that place'south a couple of minor details in the American strats that ready them apart. Other than that, they're very very similar and hard to tell autonomously quality wise.

That'southward non what virtually people want to hear. Merely it's true.

level 2

I would actually imagine that is what most people would desire to hear since Mexican Stats are cheaper and I would gauge more than people own them.

What are the pocket-size things that set American apart? I've been looking at a few MIM strats just because I really really want to accept that strat sound that I tin't get on my SG. Just can't make up one's mind if it's "worth information technology" to get american. Got my eyes on a MX roadhouse deluxe for $599 that I'm going to try and negotiate down

I love my American Pro. I used to have a Mexican from the belatedly '90s. My new guitar is hard to put down. It sounds great and feels slap-up.

Just finished this decision process a few days ago. I have a standard MIM strat and wanted something better. Went to the GC expecting to go out with American professional strat but left with a 60s series Strat MIM. Felt better played improve sounded better. When the difference between a standard strat and standard American was 400 bucks I think the American had an allure to it. Now that it's 800 more I feel it's lost some of the allure. (At least to me)

A couple weeks ago I tried out both and did not feel the American was worth the extra money. The Mexican played really bang-up and felt amazing. It was not like going from my PRS SE to my PRS CE (which was dark and 24-hour interval), the difference was much more subtle.

I'm going to test again, this fourth dimension with more than guitars than just the two I went betwixt last time and if I still can't feel a difference I will probably become the MIM.

Well, of course most will say it was worth it. Gotta justify that $chiliad difference.

I dear my strat. It sounds similar a strat and plays similar a strat. I remember if that'due south what you are looking for then the money is definitely not wasted.

level 2

I hold. I bought my pro in jan. Information technology plays swell, the pickups audio like a strat and the bridge pickup is actually useable because of the treble bleed. This is the nearly stratty sounding strat i've ever owned and i've owned several.

I had been planning on buying one for a while now and finally went to guitar heart and tried one out and was really disappointed. Honestly my piece of shit guitar at home which I essentially rescued from a garbage bin felt more comfy when soloing. It's really blocky at the bottom there and that was the deal billow for me. Other than that it was really fucking nice. Still I as well played a used fender American deluxe that was 450$ cheaper and in mint status later on and it was loads meliorate. I didn't attempt an aristocracy but I'm certain that would have been similar. For me, spending $1450 on a guitar that didn't blow me out of the water is not worth it. I recommend that you go to a store try out a bunch of strats blind and find what is comfortable for you.

Just something to keep in mind, but in my experience Guitar Eye isn't the best at setting up their new instruments, which is all it takes sometimes. You might want to endeavor and observe a different place to try i out. I have never played one, but players I know and trust have been very impressed by them.

level 2

Yep. Sounds about right.

If you are expecting to pick up a $1+ American Strat and experience some kind of aura around you, it's not going to happen. They're well made guitars, but not on the level of Suhr or Fano or Kauer.

Fender Custom shop is kind of another story. Those are some real quality feeling instruments.

level 1

100% - but I take two of them, and just really dear 1 of them. Just goes to prove that even at mid to upper range toll points, you lot withal have to do exam driving, because they don't all play the same.

level 1

If I were to go an American Strat I would probably become an EB Cutlass.
